Example complaints

Air bags: “Takata recall vw has no part--they have no timeline for the part--the are refusing a loaner until they have the part (which makes no sense). They refuse to comment on whether the car should be driven. I should not have to choose between my family's safety and spending more money--they need to provide a loaner!”

NHTSA complaint #11180280, filed 2019-02, 45,000 miles

Fuel system: “Several times now when attempting to turn out into traffic my car stutters and caused me to almost get hit. Recently while driving in traffic my car stopped receiving gas and started coasting. It literally stopped working in the middle of traffic almost causing an accident with myself and child in the car.”

NHTSA complaint #11327163, filed 2020-06, 39,000 miles

Electrical system: “The clock spring has failed on my CC causing all airbags to be disabled. Volkswagen refuses to fix this as a safety issue. I'm filing this in the event that something happens I will have full recourse against them for negligence over profit.”

NHTSA complaint #11389150, filed 2021-01, 55,000 miles

Other or unknown: “Back up camera does not deploy (intermittent) after use, the back up camera will occasionally display park pilot is currently not available . My vehicle is not equipped with the park pilot option.this disables the back up camera until the vehicle is turned off completely and the system is reset. I believe this creates a safety hazard, as the functionality of the camera may not be available during a street maneuver, such as parallel parking when the system is unusable the fault is intermittent and does not appear to follow any pattern. Other than occurring after using the camera to reverse.”
