“The clock spring has failed on my CC causing all airbags to be disabled. Volkswagen refuses to fix this as a safety issue. I'm filing this in the event that something happens I will have full recourse against them for negligence over profit.”
NHTSA complaint #11389150, filed 2021-01, 55,000 miles“It looks like a problem with the computer system all my light and sensors came on including airbags etc.. It happens when I turn my car on to go to work.”
NHTSA complaint #11279682, filed 2019-11, 70,000 miles“What happens is exactly what is described in other models and years of the same model. Failure of the steering power and airbag failure due to failure of clockspring. This is a new car and it would be quite a coincidence to have this same issue with the same manufacturer and not have it be causally related based on the same defect which caused a similar recall. The airbag sensor light wen ton, horn wouldn't work, electrical components on wheel won't work. Bringing for replacement of clockspring (same as in other recall).”
