“I had issues with the fuel system and air bag light on just started. But dealer carmax did not tell about any recall for the fuel system few years ago. But I just seen that in your system. And car max changed me a lot of money for the fuel system being replace around feb/2016. So can some please help me with this issues. And wanted to will carmax be able get reimburse for them thanks”

NHTSA complaint #10881639, filed 2016-06, 60,000 miles

“Started experiencing hard shifting in the lower gears (1-3) as described in the extended warranty for the transmission valve body. Unfortunately I am already past this warranty date and had no idea of the problem until it happened, and there is no recall on this. The vw dealership in my area said it is about a $2300.00 fix.”

NHTSA complaint #10559389, filed 2014-01, 105,000 miles

“Transmission slips extremely badly even though it doesnt even have 90k miles almost makes it impossible to drive in city and is dangerous when needing to speed up and slow down. Transmission slips more when speeding up from slow speeds and will reach high rpms of 4700 even when not touching the gas but I have had it slip on the highway out of nowhere and it peaked at 7300 RPM when not touching the gas which is past the redline on the rpms. It happens almost every day I drive to work (20 minutes on the freeway) and shouldn't be happening with this low amount of miles.”

NHTSA complaint #11297045, filed 2020-01, 82,000 miles

“We never received recall notice for 09v 164. Our car had a failed right front drive shaft which fractured the transmission case on april 28,2010. We almost lost control due to the leaking trans oil. Dealer stated that the recall was performed during a service visit. This failure is exactly why vw file a safety recall with NHTSA. Now the transmission needs to be replaced due to hole in case and vw is not responding.”

NHTSA complaint #10362269, filed 2010-10, 79,000 miles

“The car began to have jerky shifts and then began lurching at slow speeds in first. In certain cases the gear would grab and then let go allowing the car to suddenly roll backwards on hills. The mechatronics unit was replaced after 35000 miles and then the second unit lasted for 1300 miles. I am now waiting for my second replacement unit. Note this is a Jetta gli with 2.0t and 6 speed dsg transmission.”
