It was a very loud bang, which caused me to swerve. I was luck to not get any in my eyes, or I didn't have my kids in the car. I stopped at the dealership and they said it must have been a rock or something, and the Volkswagen rep who was at the dealership didn't even come out to speak with me, or look at the car. …”

The contact stated that while driving in a snowstorm, the windshield wipers stopped operating due to the heavy volume of snow, causing the contact's vision to be obscured. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed him that there was no repair for it but they could get the wipers to function. One year later, the failure occurred again. The failure mileage was 40,000.”
