“Ongoing occurrence: when I start my car the sunroof tilts open. I start to drive and the sunroof would start randomly open and close without me touching knob to open sunroof. I could push on knob and sunroof closes from tilt position and at times it would just open right back up. This occurs during driving and without driving with car ignition on. Seems like electrical issue within the sunroof controller.”

NHTSA complaint #11414166, filed 2021-04, 104,000 miles

“The radio/bluetooth/cd player completely stopped working when the ignition turned on. It had worked the previous day. I took it to my mechanic. It is not the fuse. It needs a complete new radio system. I called the dealer, but it is not covered under warranty. The total would be $800+. After checking on line, I find that there are multiple complaints on this same subject.”

NHTSA complaint #11030452, filed 2017-09, 59,000 miles

“Rcd-510 radio stopped working and is confirmed dead by the dealer. No warning, no reason and no fix available. Bluetooth no longer works because it uses the radio to power car speakers, so cannot do hands free communication. Vw says it is not responsible because the car is out of warranty. I have never had a radio fail -- I have under 60,000 miles on the car!”

NHTSA complaint #10706122, filed 2015-04, 58,100 miles

“I had the oil changed and the latest recall done by the dealership. About 3 days later the radio went blank and black. Another problem has been the automatic locks. I have been unable to unlock rear passenger door except manually. And then all of a sudden the lock is not working at all on that side and I am unable to lock that door.”

NHTSA complaint #10763711, filed 2015-09, 50,000 miles

“Another Jetta to add to the list with a faulty radio. The radio just died in the middle of a normal commute. I found in a forum that I'm just one of many so I'm lodging a complaint in hopes vw will listen. Also, the remote entry doesn't work sometimes and sometimes the car will not go into reverse without stopping the engine and restarting it.”
