“2007 Volkswagen Passat 4motion. Low tire pressure warning. This car has been in two dealers service centers to have this issue resolved over the last two years. A month ago it was repaired and lasted one block. I have asked the dealer and the manufacturer to contact me to get this resolved. I have not received any contact from either. I feel that since this is a federal mandate it should have been repaired under the manufacturers warranty. It was not.”

“We purchased our 2007 Passat 3.6l 4-motion wagon and had issues with the airbags from day 1 (literally), and had the dealership replace the sensors under both seats within the first three days. Within a month, we began having issues with the tire pressure monitoring system. New tires fixed the TPMS issue for about a week, then we began having issues again. A year after we bought the car, my wife had an accident (rear-ended someone), and the airbag did not deploy. We had to have the entire front-end repaired - $10,237 worth of repairs. …”

NHTSA complaint #10484920, filed 2012-11, 104,547 miles

“Tire pressure issues with Volkswagen vehicles. I purchased this vehicle back in 2007 and about nearly a month after purchase I have had issues with tire pressure. No one from the vw dealer I purchase the car from or another vw dealer can tell me what the issue is. The refrain is there is nothing wrong with the tires. Each month up until july I have to put air in my tire, when I reached the 50k marker and tires were rotated I have to inflate the tire every 3-4 days.”

NHTSA complaint #10345237, filed 2010-07

“Pirelli 235/40r18 tires on a brand new 2007 Volkswagen Passat (oem tires) developed a sidewall bulge (no excessive speeding, no potholes, and no curbs encountered). In less than 4,000 miles, the tire developed sidewall bubbles. Many others report the same problem with these model tires (four seasons p6) having soft sidewalls that can rupture, however pirelli has not been at all willing to remedy the problem by replacing the tires. They claim road damage, however there is no road damage to found on the tire, or anywhere else on my vehicle. …”
