“My drivers side back seat door will not close all the way and will open back up if it does not latch correctly. The engine wiring will make my cars dash lights all come on and make the wipers go off. The door only does this while stationary however, the dash lights go off while in motion on a regular street going less than 40mph”

NHTSA complaint #11338410, filed 2020-07, 122,000 miles

“The car will not start at times and make clicking sounds. This vehicle has been doing that for quite some time (at 80,000 miles) it is now 106,000 miles. I have taken it just about everywhere and done just about everything. No one can figure out what's wrong with it. I have changed the recall (win module), new starter,”

NHTSA complaint #10786094, filed 2015-10, 80,000 miles

“I've had the vw Routan since 2010 - purchased it with 6,000 miles on it. It's a sel so it's auto-everything. In the past 12-16 months both the left and right passenger auto doors stopped working due to a wiring issue. (2 separate incidents; $300 each repair). Today, my left passenger auto door stopped working again. The vehicle sees normal usage and has not been in an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #10596874, filed 2014-06, 58,000 miles

“Completely lost control of the vehicle (no power, no power steering) while driving 45mph on a 7 lane major street. Thankfully it was in the early morning hours and I was able to glide across the intersection to a side street where I turned the vehicle off and on and it resumed power. This has happened at least 4 more times since then, usually while idling at a red light.”

NHTSA complaint #10519722, filed 2013-06, 200 miles

“We've had multiple problems with the van not starting and the dealer did not do anything about because they could not recreate the problem. We received a recall notice in august for ignition problems which could result in the power brakes and airbags shut down while driving. I have called two dealers and vw customer service and they keep saying they still do not have parts after 2 months.”
