“After my van has been sitting for a while and it been warmed up for 15 minutes. With in the first 2 to 5 miles of driving the traction control light will come on and the van will shut off and the steering wheel and break will fail. Then I have to turn the key to off and restart the van and it sometime repeat itself if I'm stuck in traffic.”
NHTSA complaint #10807881, filed 2015-12, 105,376 miles“The engine turned to off while I was driving and depowered power steering and brakes. At that point I restarted the car and was able to drive. Took the car immediately to vw dealer, kept the car for 24 hours, and they could not replicate the incident so nothing was done by them. This happened again at 93000 miles on august 8, 2014.”
NHTSA complaint #10621954, filed 2014-08, 91,000 miles“Oil consumption since 12000 miles. Vw dealer never want to address the problem. Keep tell me this normal. Now I have to add quarter oil every1400 mil. I hope the recall will fix this problem. I had to replace brakes at 12000 miles due the while brakes. I've done oil consumption test 3 times already.”
NHTSA complaint #10703606, filed 2015-04, 16,080 miles“While driving at 35 MPH the engine including electricity and power steering shuts off completely. Had to pull over and put it in park to restart the car. This has happened numerous times. I told the dealer that I read about the recall on the year after model that they fixed their car (changed win module) free of charge. He said my car is not included in the recall. When does it become a recall? This is a safety issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10574983, filed 2014-03, 9,000 miles“Our Routan has, yet again, left me stranded. I was running errands with two of my children and the vehicle would not start. This is not an isolated incident for me or, it would appear from research I've done, for this make and model. Our mechanic has run diagnostics and can not find anything wrong. It is a safety concern because it is unreliable and leaves me stranded, twice late at night, several times, fortunately, in front of my own home and this needs to be addressed.”
