“The high pressure fuel pump goes out without warning. Its extremely dangerous when traveling 70 MPH down the interstate and all sudden the car stall and shuts down and you have to man handle the steering wheel. That being said an 18 wheeler had to pull a magic trick to not smash me and my 3 kids!!! I'm highly bothered by this. Iv seen reviews of the hpfp going bad why has Bmw not fixed the issue yet???????😡😡😡”

NHTSA complaint #11413997, filed 2021-04, 189,000 miles

“The car stalled and lost power on highway. Engine light came on . Rough idling. First incident occurred september 2011. The second incident happened oct 26, 2011. Both times the car stalled and lost power on the highway. I believe that this created a very dangerous and life threatening situation for me and others on the highway.”

NHTSA complaint #10432945, filed 2011-10, 22,816 miles

“Was driving at approximately 55 MPH when my car started to shutter. My Bmw started to slow despite me depressing the gas pedal. I had to pull off the side of the road even though there was not a good spot to stop. Bmw attempted to fix it once by updating the car's software. However, they ended up replacing the fuel pump. It took two service sessions to fix the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10345239, filed 2010-07, 55,000 miles

“I have had two fuel pumps replaced for my Bmw 335I and it is very annoying. The events leading up to the failure were very long cranks when I started the car and one time my car even almost broke down and wouldn't start on me... Bmw replaced both the fuel pumps that went dead and for one of them I had to wait three weeks to get it... =/ very mad!!”

NHTSA complaint #10235764, filed 2008-07, 1,500 miles

“Car stalling and no power in the middle of the road while driving. No power to accelerate. This happened while I was making a u turn, cars was coming at me at a high rate of speed and I couldn't get power to accelerate. Tried pulling over safely. Car was oozing power and cant restart normally.”
