“My car is liking oil by the engine cover gasket and is doing it on top of the exhaust, this give the car a smell like burning rubber. I was looking online and Bmw says that this is normal for a car. I was doing a research and I came across hyundai recalled veracruz 07-12 for the same issue. Looks like Bmw don't care about their products... I want this to be fix , free of charge in one of their dealers...”

NHTSA complaint #10691383, filed 2015-03, 100,000 miles

“I live in the state of virginia. I have been experiencing the same issues with my 2008 Bmw for about a month now. My coworker has the same year make and model, and is also experiencing or has experienced the same issues. We both have had our cars in the shop at the same time and the vehicles are now repaired. The issue with the vehicle is it begins to stall as driving which is dangerous in our area for traffic. The car will not pick up speed while driving and you can not go over 10 miles per hour. The car also jerks. …”

NHTSA complaint #10704330, filed 2015-04, 82,000 miles

“While driving to work, through city streets, the engine stalled. I was nearly in an accident. I was able to restart the engine, but it stalled again in less than 3 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #10734096, filed 2015-07, 142,000 miles

“Oil sensor light failed, indicating full oil fill and engine locked up on highway nearly causing serious accident. Shop says engine had no oil, yet gauge says full. There are no dipsticks on this model. The gauge actually shows the amount of oil and is the only way to rely on anything.”
