2015: “I was driving like I normally do to work and my transmission temperature warning light came on and the car went limp and a few moments later the clutch temperature warning light came on also. It stopped doing it for a while and now it does it very often but does not put a code in the cars computer database so it can't be tracked. This happens often a in city with lights etc and sometimes on the highways also.”

NHTSA complaint #11342183, filed 2020-07, 57,000 miles

2016: “On three occasions, the car still accelerates for 2-3 seconds after full acceleration at high RPM. Another Bmw M4 gts owner has also confirmed with me via message. I have reason to believe its the water injection system in the car. This car is very limited to 250 units so there aren't many owners around. Half of these cars are in garages and private collections and a few are still for sale so its tough to find more than one person other than myself.”

NHTSA complaint #11056765, filed 2017-12, 200 miles

2018: “The fuel tank was leaking a substantial amount of fuel. Yes it is. Our safety was put at risk due to the fuel leak. Any small spark, overheating or if somebody threw a cigarette butt out of their window could have ignited our car. BMW informed me to immediately cease driving the car and bring to the dealership right away. Problem was confirmed by dealership as stated on the attached invoice. No, no warning or indicator lights were present.”
