“There is a light that came on that states Transmission: secure vehicle against rolling. This is a common problem with these cars and is very expensive to fix. This is a defect in these cars and I don’t want to find out what will happen in the event that my car does roll especially my children in the car. I chose BMW because it is not only a luxury vehicle but was suppose to be safe. This to me is NOT safe.”
NHTSA complaint #11468090, filed 2022-06“Secure vehicle against rolling warning effecting my vehicle. Looking online, I can not believe how many others have this very same error. Bmw should do a fix recall because they want to charge 3000 dollars for a 5 dollar spring replacement.”
NHTSA complaint #11447248, filed 2022-01“7/19/2022 I got a drivetrain warning. Turned car off and on and it cleared the warning but now I am getting a secure vehicle against rolling notice every time I turn car off. This appears to be the same problem with other BMW X 1s.”
NHTSA complaint #11474794, filed 2022-07“My 2017 BMW x1 with around 45,000 miles randomly pops up with a secure vehicle against rolling warning on my dash when I park now. After reading online, it seems to be a very common issue among BMW x1's that should be a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11463263, filed 2022-05“The secure vehicle from rolling warning alert keeps coming on everytime I get into the vvehicle I have to clear it everything I start driving or it will keep on chiming if I don't”
