Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Twice in the last 30 days our Enclave was showing low on gas (usually not an issue) but both times the car sputtered to a stop. Once it quit I lost all power steering and braking. Even after I put gas in the car, the key would not move so I was unable to start the car without a jump. Car was towed to dealership. They were unable to recreate the issue although they were unable to explain why the key would lock up in the ignition. According to Buick everything checked out fine. Based on what we are hearing on the news, this issue seems very similar to the cobalt issue. Thank you.”

NHTSA complaint #10583576, filed 2014-04, 36,900 miles

“When filling up the vehicle with gas, it is flooding the engine... There is also another issue that when you turn off your vehicle and the key is out of the ignition, the car and radio still runs...apparently, there is a fuse box that is causing this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11123414, filed 2018-08, 80,000 miles

“The fuel gauge reads 1/4 full then a couple minutes later read empty. It fluctuates constantly giving the wrong reading. Several others have had the same issue with this same year, make and model vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11395969, filed 2021-02, 131,000 miles

“Multiple instances of the transmission slipping into a neutral-type-state while attempting to merge onto/into highway speeds. This has occurred over 20 times in the last 1.5 years. Dealership took car on multiple occasions and was able to replicate it 1x. Their corrective measure was to re-download transmission software. This did not fix the issue. This is an intermittent problem that poses a significant safety risk, as the slippage can last anywhere from 1 to 3 seconds.”

NHTSA complaint #10701862, filed 2015-03, 15,000 miles

“My car has shut off multiple times , electrical shorts, intermittent no start, intermittent misfires all the time but randomly , injector codes even when replaced and injectors are good , yes come check out my vehicle no shops can find out what's the problem practically the whole front end has been replaced and problems still happening it is congruent with a recall but shows nothing from vin”
