“Our mechanic told us that the differential is making a grinding sound and he add differential fluid, but said the problem would only get worse. The car only has 62k miles on it and it is VERY EXPENSIVE to have the differential replace/repaired. I feel that this is a defect of the car and should be recalled by Cadillac to have the differential replaced. For the differential to go bad at 60k miles is unacceptable and is terrible reliability.”

NHTSA complaint #11428635, filed 2021-08

“I was driving and it started rattling and getting very bumpy. I exited the freeway and came to a stop. The vehicle would no longer move. I had it towed to my mechanic. The right front axle broke. He replaced it and drove it around the block for a test drive. It was very loud and turning tight when the left axle broke. It has been diagnosed with a bad differential. Everyone I have spoke with at multiple Cadillac dealerships, including someone at a dealership over 30 years, have said they never seen this type of problem and especially on such a newer vehicle with only 84,000 miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #11436671, filed 2021-10

“My car is a 2014 CTS vsport. I have owned the vehicle since august of 2017, and it had 42,563 miles when I purchased the vehicle. I have had 'tire issues' with the car since day 1. The 1st week I owned the vehicle, the tires had to be replaced, although they had just been replaced prior to my purchase, the car was making very loud noise while driving and it was determined they had 'uneven wear.' along with this, the 'rear axle system off' light would occasionally come on. Nothing the dealer could find with it and it always seemed the light would turn off when it was at dealership. …”

NHTSA complaint #11309770, filed 2020-02

“2014 Cadillac CTS. Consumer writes in regards to four flat tires due to low profile wheels. The consumer believed in order to eliminate the problem, Cadillac needs to replace the 19 inch wheels and tires with 18 inch wheels and tires that came equipped on the vehicle. The consumer stated she was never informed the 19 inch wheels and tires would be so easily damaged, just by driving on the highway.”
