“At a low speed, between 10 and 15 mph, the forward collision system automatically triggered and brought the car to an immediate stop. While we were lucky that no car was following behind us, the passenger and I experienced significant whiplash and lasting back pain as a result of this. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone, and not been reproduced. The forward collision system flashed (red warning light, alert).”

NHTSA complaint #11750420, filed 2026-07

“I am concerned about a significant safety issue with my 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV. On at least four separate occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly applied extremely hard Rear Automatic Braking while I was backing up, despite there being no object, vehicle, person, or obstacle behind the vehicle. The braking is so abrupt and forceful that it feels as though the vehicle has collided with something. Because the driver is typically looking over their shoulder while reversing, the sudden stop causes a violent jolt. …”

NHTSA complaint #11763996, filed 2026-09

“This is now the second report from this vehicle with similar issues. This incident happened when in reverse with nothing behind me, the vehicle slammed on its brakes. No audible warning in the vehicle and nothing showing on the dashboard. The vehicle just applied emergency braking. This was a witnessed event.”
