“My chevy Equinox lt has the passenger air bag light on. It says it needs to be serviced but my car doesn't fall under the recall. I purchased this car off of someone, there has been no accident reports. It just suddenly stopped working. My car only has 98,000 miles.it's a safety issue that should be covered by chevy.”

NHTSA complaint #11350504, filed 2020-08, 95 miles

“At 100,000 miles, the passenger airbag sensor failed and caused the vehicle to indicate that the airbag was not active, even when a passenger was in the front, passenger seat. I took it to the authorized dealer and referenced # 07v344000 recall but was told that my VIN did not fall within the recall, despite the similarity of the issues involved.”

NHTSA complaint #11079610, filed 2018-03, 100,000 miles

“My passenger side airbag does not tell when somebody sitting there so if I have an accident the airbag will not go off I don't think the sensor is working it has been replaced once already. My key gets stuck in the ignition I have to wait for it to click to get it out of the ignition”

NHTSA complaint #11120900, filed 2018-08, 1,400 miles

“A few months ago, I took my car into the dealer to diagnose a check airbag light. $122 later, my vehicle was found to have a faulty passenger presence module. I was quoted over $1000 in repairs and given no other options. I declined the repairs in lieu of confirming with an independent mechanic as I have had issues with that service department before regarding a faulty fuel system (which was recalled and I was not informed). …”

NHTSA complaint #10840346, filed 2016-03, 115,000 miles

“I purchased this unit in 2010. This is related to the front passenger seat. The signal of the airbag appears off even if there is a passenger seated. This started to happen in 2013. I took it for a diagnostic at a dealer and they said it was a faulty sensor. Very expensive repair. There is a recall for this situation but when I gave my VIN # it appears my vehicle is not included (NHTSA campaign #07v344000).”

NHTSA complaint #10596279, filed 2014-06, 70,000 miles
