“Our 2007 chevy Equinox fuel pump return started leaking fuel on the top of the fuel pump causing fuel to leak on the ground and releases strong gas fumes while parked in our garage. This vehicle is under current safety recall in other states but not in indiana. Why are only some states under recall but not indiana?”

NHTSA complaint #11012446, filed 2017-08, 125,000 miles

“As many others, I now have a leaking fuel sending unit on our 2007 chevy Equinox. Many people have this same problem and chevy chooses not to address it for us by issuing a recall. When the vehicle is running the fuel system is pressurized which causes fuel to spray out of a faulty joint which is made of plastic that cracks, the fuel then drips down from the tank as it pleases around the exhaust and on to the floor.”

NHTSA complaint #11105415, filed 2018-07, 141,000 miles

“I purchased a 2007 chevy Equinox from a private party back in january but due to a mix-up with the title and the previous owner I could not title the car and start driving it until march. I've noticed lately a strong smell of gas and a very loud clunking noise from the driver side front wheel. I took it to a local shop in my town and was told I had a gas leak at the top of the tank and that the sway bar linkage needed to be replaced . …”

NHTSA complaint #11097287, filed 2018-05, 129,000 miles

“The fuel pump module was leaking fuel, as discovered by my mechanic. The pump had to be changed at great expense. Why has this problem not been addressed across the board for Equinox, instead of selective state registered as mentioned in the GM recall ? I could have had a potential fire had I not detected fuel fumes when I did. Thank you,”

NHTSA complaint #10511006, filed 2013-05, 121,000 miles

“The vehicle has been smelling like gas after driving. The smell is in the car after driving, parking for a few and getting back in the car. I have yet to go get it checked but have only had it for 2years. I see that there are now over 200 of the same complains and I am not willing to put in $1700 into a practically new car. A recall is in order!!”
