“The fuel pump quit while driving, fortunately we were not on as interstate highway. I was able to coast to the side of the road and call for tow. If this occurred on an interstate highway it could have been very dangerous. The dealer repaired the vehicle under a warranty. The fuel pump and control module were replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #11762498, filed 2026-09

“My car seized while I was driving. It started fine and I drove about 10 min down the road and all of a sudden it seized. My car was towed to dealership. OnStar sent me a code p129f fuel pump. I was driving on the road and it seized. Could have caused a bad accident. Cars had to go around me. Yes the problem was “fixed” today 6/30. No prior error messages after is seized my battery light came on”

NHTSA complaint #11747460, filed 2026-06

“Driving down the highway and my vehicle lost power. It stopped dead still in the middle of the highway under a hill both front and back. It was very dangerous both for me and the other drivers. Engine light came on and the car wouldn’t start . Had it towed to the Chevrolet dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #11753661, filed 2026-07

“My 2024 Chevy Equinox went into limp mode on 2-15-26 and gave me engine codes P228C and P0089. I encountered limp mode once before this date but no check engine light went on. It lost acceleration while driving. I took it to Henna Chevrolet in Austin, TX and they told me that I am outside of the warranty window even though the vehicle has less than 60K miles. They told me that it would have been under the basic 36,000 mile warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #11719189, filed 2026-02

“I pulled in to traffic on busy road, car quit. I almost got hit. The Fuel Pump Control Module was replaced on warrantee but I understand this has been an ongoing problem. Car had 800 miles. My wife is now afraid to drive it.”
