“From the very first day of purchase, the vehicle displayed a check‑engine light, which I immediately pointed out to your salesperson. My concerns were dismissed, and I was assured that it was “not a big deal,” despite the fact that the issue was clearly present at the time of sale. Since then, I have spent substantial time and money attempting to resolve the vehicle’s defects. …”
NHTSA complaint #11757291, filed 2026-08“Check engine light turns off and on every day and it’s popping up high pressure fuel pump I Was told it was a problem with these make year and model vehicles and was considered a recall but was told my vin didn’t pop up as a recall and have to pay out of pocket I had less than 30,000 miles.”
NHTSA complaint #11727457, filed 2026-03“While I was driving the Engine reduce power came on. I was currently doing 75 miles and the truck dropped down to 55 miles per hour. I took it to the Chevrolet place and it needed a fuel pump , and I was advised that this has been a common issue for the Chevrolet Equinox vehicles , and my vehicle is practically brand new. This issue needs to looked into because the is dangerous and a-lot of dealerships are stating this is a common issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11664331, filed 2025-06“My car has been shutting down or going into limp mode. It has happened 4 times now and has left me stranded. The second time it happened I was going highway speeds and car lost power causing me to almost get rearended trying to pull my car off road. The 3rd time it happened my car stahled while idling and I could not get it to start back up in the middle of traffic at intersection. I have had injector and pipe replaced, ecm updated and now its going back to dealer as it is currently broke down again.”
NHTSA complaint #11696990, filed 2025-11“Purchased vehicle at 53k miles in March 27 of this year it broke down April 27 a month later took it to Chevy dealership. They said it had recall to reprogram fuel pump later discovered the high pressure fuel pump went out and one fuel injector went bad at the same time. I wasn’t informed on recalls when purchasing vehicle. Bill was $1300+ I had to come out of pocket $520 for the repairs.July 12 the ac compressor went out but i cancelled my warranties cause they didn’t cover all repairs so I had to replace compressor my self.”
