“After heavy rain fall, I noticed water in front floor board of both driver and passenger side, after looking the glove box is also full of water. I do not see any leaks on either door, or the windshield area. This is a huge safety concern if driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11352180, filed 2020-08, 80,000 miles

“Takata recall I was involved in a car wreck on a city street. My car was totaled and not even one airbag deployed. It was a front end collision. I was traveling east about 20-25 miles per hour and s vehicle ran a stop sign going excessively fast. I hit the passenger side of her vehicle. My vehicle spun around 90 degrees and ended up in a ditch hitting a stop sign on drivers side door. Front of my Equinox was totaled.”

NHTSA complaint #11149545, filed 2018-11, 56,000 miles

“On dec 31, 2020 I struck a deer on a county rd going approx 45mph. The impact was so hard the drive train was shoved into the car and the radiator exploded and the entire front passenger side was destroyed. Neither pass. Nor drivers side doors would open. The car is a total loss yet the airbags never deployed throughout the entire vehicle but you could see a white powdery smoke and it smell as if they did and the car now says service airbags. …”

NHTSA complaint #11386041, filed 2021-01, 65,000 miles

“My 2015 Equinox has about 90k miles. Today the lift gate (automatic) started to not stay open. It would open fully and slowly fall. After a few minutes, it would close. About 1 hour later, the tail gate will open, start to close, try to open and then closed quickly. I was under the door and could not hold the door open. If I hadn't moved, I would have lost an arm.”

NHTSA complaint #11418185, filed 2021-05

“Extreme design flaws. Rear-side/corner view windows are too small & location is of no help visually. Back seat head rests are non-removable & block view of merging traffic. We must fold down back seats for safety. Rarely do we carry back seat passengers; back seat head rests should be removable.”
