“The company I work for recently purchased a new work van for me to use. Upon my first day of driving I realized that I had a problem with the tinted strip in the windshield. I am a tall person and when sitting in the seat my line of vision is thru this tinted strip. At night I noticed that my distance of vision is very limitied, even in daylight hours. I have checked with several auto glass dealers and they all say I can't get this windshield without the tinted strip. I have talked to the dealer and to GM customer assistance and they tell me the same thing. …”
NHTSA complaint #742927, filed 2001-03“Knocking on front end and faulty rear end. Parts were replaced twice on the front and rear end of the vehicle. The radio was replaced, the power steering was noisy, the mirror vibrated when traveling at a high speed. The exhaust system was emitting white smoke. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs over 15 times”
NHTSA complaint #10063463, filed 2004-03“Mirrors shake so badly that no image can be identified above 50 MPH. Very dangerous on interstates. Dealer technician says this is the single most frequent complaint about these vans since introduction in 1996. Replacement often fails to improve condition. This is a design failure. If true this should be the basis for a recall and re-design.”
