NHTSA complaint #10055614, filed 2004-01, 4,833 miles

“Vehicle shuts down during operation. I just saw there is a recall on your site saying same problem but mine didnt qualify. I have burned wires in harness to instrument panel. I found two wires at harness where code reader plugs into . O was able to ground them but now a couple months later same problem. I've completed repairs myself, I am poor and dont know any honest affordable mechanics as I am capable of most reasonable repairs. I think my van falls under overheating panel warranty as described by this website. …”

“Emc fuses blown / fuel pump failure...currenty 3 of our 15 chevroletrental vans have experienced blown emc fuses, causing the vehicle to stall. After troubleshooting & replacing the recommended fuse, we continued to have problems. Each time we turned on the ignition another blown fuse! We then removed the gas tank & inspected the fuel pump. What was found the first time, was acceptable. But finding the same problem on another 2 vans has got us worried. The black and gray wire fused themselves together while inside the gas tank! Could this be a fire/explosion potential? …”
