“My car has the same sterring column as in the colbolt I once owned. They recalled many makes of the HHR for new columns. But not the 2007 or 2008. I have replaced the wiper motor once before and aftrer 3 years have to replace again. Any time the temperture gets above 70 degree, the power sterring goes out. Also when the ignition switch was recalled and exchanged, the dealership refused to reset the keyless entry key rings, so cannt use my auto starter, unlock or oped my doors, especially the hatch back. There is no way to open that door, no handle, no inner button, no pull to open it.”

NHTSA complaint #11101955, filed 2018-06, 100,120 miles

“Power sterring is going out just like it did in my colbolt. Both are 2007. Wiper power drive went out replaced that on our own. When did the ignition switch, the dealership refused to reset the remote controls, said recall was for switch only.”

NHTSA complaint #11005506, filed 2017-07

“I came home after running errands and got out of my 2007 chevy HHR and shut the drivers side door. 30 seconds after that my rear window on the hatchback completely shattered. It was not a hot day. There was glass all over the inside of the back of my car and my driveway. I'm just glad my 7 year old daughter was not in the back seat, for fear of getting hit by a piece of glass now I have to get it replaced and its going to cost me my deductible on my insurance of 250.00.”

NHTSA complaint #10327645, filed 2010-04

“Car was parked. I opened the passenger door. As soon as I closed door the rear glass shattered and fell to the ground. Temperature was not too hot or cold.”

NHTSA complaint #10446615, filed 2012-02

“The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet HHR. While driving approximately 70 MPH in the rain the windshield wipers suddenly stopped operating. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that a plastic garment in the wiper had cracked and caused the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 149,000. Updated 05/30/17”
