“I was turning from one street onto another and all of a sudden there was a clanking noise coming from under the car and then the power steering went out along with the brakes and my acceleration. I had to pull over and stop the car. After all this my car would not start and every time I tried to start my car, it sounded like the battery died but I know it wasn't the battery.”

NHTSA complaint #10592703, filed 2014-05, 75,333 miles

“The heat has never worked correctly unless you are accelerating. The vehicle can be warmed up and heating, but if its put into idle or at a stop it begins to blow cool. I have been told there is an air pocket that has to be bled out because there is a bad design where the hoses are above the block and they get clogged up. I have had it bled and it worked but now have had the same problem come back.”

“I have a 2006 ss Impala I've had nothing but on going problems. 1st waterpump went out then 2nd driver tie rod was replaced 3rd powersteering hose replaced 4th battery went dead 5th power steering hose out again and tie rod on passenger needs replaced also. I'm so fed up with this car and its problems!these have been on going problems since 2006.”

NHTSA complaint #10249061, filed 2008-11, 43,500 miles

“I took my car to the shop the other day to have it checked because it stopped getting hot and I was putting antifreeze in it about once a week. It would only get hot if I was pressing on the gas or was driving. They told me it was leaking from my head gasket and that they have seen this problem with these cars often. They told me to take it to a chevy dealer and they should fix it. Im going to go to the chevy dealer and see if they will fix it or not.”

NHTSA complaint #10260645, filed 2009-03, 76,700 miles

“Displayed on panel reduced engine power . On star diagnosed service code p2138 . On 05/01/2012 while driving through a large intersection my engine power was reduced to 3 or maybe 5 MPH. I was trying to get through the intersection without the acceleration that was so desperately needed. This is definitely a safety issue. In addition to being concerned about getting into an accident, I'm fearful I will be the one causing a fatal pile-up. I have been to the chevy dealer 4 times and they were unable to fix this problem.”
