“I was turning from one street onto another and all of a sudden there was a clanking noise coming from under the car and then the power steering went out along with the brakes and my acceleration. I had to pull over and stop the car. After all this my car would not start and every time I tried to start my car, it sounded like the battery died but I know it wasn't the battery.”
NHTSA complaint #10592703, filed 2014-05, 75,333 miles“I was getting off the expressway when I just all of a sudden feel a shaking coming from the steering wheel I noticed the service traction control was on so I pulled over that's when it shut down on me. I then got the wheel hubs and ball joints changed because I thought that was the problem but it was not so my mechanic reset the vehicle went off for a day then came back on.”
NHTSA complaint #10548586, filed 2013-10, 125,000 miles“My power steering was acting crazy and making clicking and other weird sounds. After being notified of a recall, I took it in to the dealer. The dealer told me they had to perform the recall, which they have it listed as a power steering flush on my GM owner center file. It has now returned back to clicking and weird sounds when I drive and turn. I'm scared that maybe GM is overlooking my Impala.”
NHTSA complaint #10588713, filed 2014-05, 38,756 miles“Rear defroster wiring under front passenger door had smoked and small fire. Car was in motion on a city street. Was just pulling into my driveway so I pulled of fuse box cover to discover it. Wires melted. Had no fuse in there. Burned out quickly.”
NHTSA complaint #11019148, filed 2017-08, 97,000 miles“I was turning off of elberton road onto veribest road & I heard the front tire made a knocking sound about 3 times while turning & continued to drive after the car felt okay, then I felt as if the car dropped or the tire was coming off & the steering wheel locked up, traction control light started to blink & the brakes went out & we crash due to me not having control of the vehicle! Me & my 3 kids were badly injured!”
