“When the car goes into the auto stop mode it completely dies and the light. No dash lights, no dome light, no hazard lights, literally nothing works. This has happened 3 times so far, and all three times I was in the middle of traffic. I'm not happy, I have had trouble out of this car with other issues sense I gotten it back in july of 2020”
NHTSA complaint #11385714, filed 2020-12, 98,000 miles“There is times I will stop put car in park and shut engine off and the screen will read shift to park. So I will have to start it again pull ahead or back up and try it again. There is times I have to do it many times before it registers and sometimes only once. For the date of when it happened that was the last time it did it but has done it in the past”
NHTSA complaint #11210019, filed 2019-05, 52,000 miles“Every time I push the brake pedal and the auto stop engages the engine turns off, but when you take your foot off of the brake pedal the whole dash display goes out, including the turn signals. It takes about a minute for the dash to come back on. This happens several time a day, and it has been going on for at least two years. It scares me when this happens.”
NHTSA complaint #11287602, filed 2019-12, 45,000 miles“Takata recall. The 2016 chevy Malibu 2016 stopped working while in motion, the engine shut off and steering wheel locked. Leaving me hanging and in a dangerous situation. The car completely turned off and I was unable to move the steering wheel. This happened while driving. No prior issues until this. I was completely in motion while it happened on my neighborhood street.”
NHTSA complaint #11205079, filed 2019-05, 36,563 miles“When I turn off my car. The message shift to park pops up and I have to keep turning on and off the car until the message shift to park disappears. If I leave it like that the radio turns on really loud. My car is not even 3 years old. This started about a month ago and it went away for a few days and it came back again.”
