“Pulled out of a construction site after a work day and the wheels on my truck locked up right in the middle of the road. If I was pulling into a highway, I would not be writing this right now. The truck was idling for about 2 hours before I pulled out into traffic. The way the wheels stopped, it felt like the parking brake is engaging when I drive. Maybe this is some kind of limp mode to prevent damage. If that is the case, it is a very dangerous fail-safe to implement on a vehicle that people depend on for work. …”
NHTSA complaint #11352248, filed 2020-08, 37,000 miles“The ball joint for the front left tire broke while driving on a straight road and caused over $2,100 worth of damage to the wheel, axle, brake, etc. I had no warning or anything when this happened. It felt like my tire popped and when I pulled over, the wheel was still attached but was sitting at an awkward angle. The shop quoted me at $2,154 as there were 5 or 6 different parts they needed to repair including the ball joint, axle, brakes, brake sensors, rim, etc.”
NHTSA complaint #11457649, filed 2022-03“They sold me a vehicle at the dealer. Three days after I bought it, I had to buy tires for it. Because they were in bad condition, they also charged me for a liquid called 3m nitro and I don't understand why they put it in if the tires were in bad condition, and they also promised to fix some details on the bumper and details on the paint on the body of the truck, and the transmission has already started to fail, and they don't want to help me or take responsibility. The truck still has a Dealer warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #11630758, filed 2024-12“I am writing to formally express my frustration regarding the ongoing issues with my vehicle. The vehicle continues to overheat, the check engine light repeatedly comes on, and it has cut off unexpectedly. The tire air pressure sensors as well. These issues have persisted despite multiple repair attempts. I initially brought the vehicle to the dealership in December 2024, and again in March 2025 and now the vehicle is having the same issues to date December 2025. On both occasions, the vehicle remained at the dealership for over a month for repairs. …”
NHTSA complaint #11707666, filed 2025-12“engine replacement at 60k miles due to metal pieces broken down and shredded in engine, happened while driving. dealer replaced engine because i had extended warranty. Few months later the transmission failed and they replace with a brand new transmission because i had extended warranty. Now 15k miles later my wheels randomly lock up when turning corners. very dangerous. I can dig for every fine detail and time stamps and paper tail but i saw article on gm issues with engine and wanted to share. they didn’t want me to come forward when all of this happened.”
