“Backed truck out of garage had no power brakes nor power steering. As tow truck driver loaded vehicle on his flatbed truck to take it to the garage (under warranty) he put vehicle in reverse, had a slight brake application then he felt a clunk (vehicle jerked). Power steering & brakes started working normally. Garage could find nothing wrong.”

NHTSA complaint #10335581, filed 2010-06, 22,979 miles

“When applying the brakes hard going downhill at above 50 MPH the steering wheels shimmies from side to side violently. Easing off the brakes reduces the shimmying. This has been a continuous problem and it requires constant awareness when approaching a downhill roadway. Also it occurs whenever a panic stop from greater then 55 MPH is attempted. Vehicle is a 2009 roadtrek model 190 popular and weighs close to 9600 lbs. Suspect the disc brakes may be warping under the heat or the ABS system is at fault.”

NHTSA complaint #10576952, filed 2014-04, 100 miles

“The contact owned a 2008 Chevrolet SILVERADO 2500. While driving at 67 MPH, the steering wheel seized. The vehicle veered off the road and rolled over due to the loss of control. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained severe spine and tail bone fractures that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of failure. The failure mileage was 145,000. The VIN was not provided.”

NHTSA complaint #10765018, filed 2015-09, 145,000 miles

“The contact owned a 2008 Chevrolet SILVERADO 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle did not have brakes or power steering. The service department told the contact the problem might never happen again. The power steering pump was replaced at the contact's request and at his expense. However, the failure happened again. The failure was never corrected. The contact traded the vehicle in for another vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000. Updated 07/17/14 ma”

NHTSA complaint #10579642, filed 2014-04, 34,000 miles

“My powering steering hoses runs too close to the turbo line and the hoses will wear through leaving you without any steering and any brakes. This should be a recall because this is a huge safety issue to people.”
