NHTSA complaint #10250189, filed 2008-11, 79,200 miles

“I am the original owner of a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe with all original equipment. The vehicle standard equipment includes a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The problem I have is that all five (spare tire) tire valve stem caps have seized on the valve stem which prevents adding air to the tires. The problem is due to corrosion between the contacting surfaces only of the valve stem and valve stem cap. The corrosion is due to the reaction between the dissimilar metals of the valve stem cap and valve stem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10294434, filed 2009-12, 104,000 miles

“The speedometer is broken. After registering wrong speeds for a day (sometimes 0 MPH), it finally stuck on 120mph. It no longer works. I contacted the dealer for help with the speedometer and with a problem I was having with inaccurate tire pressure readings and an inoperable second row (middle) seat belt. The dealer said sorry it is out of warranty, but the salesperson said she would check to see if there was anything she could do and call me back. I never heard from her. I can appreciate normal wear and tear repairs. …”

NHTSA complaint #10214853, filed 2008-01, 70,000 miles

“Stopped to check air pressure in tires, that's when I saw the front driver side tire with a 6 inch sidewall separation leading from the rim sidewall to the tire tread. The rear driver side has a 3 inch separation starting into the sidewall.”

NHTSA complaint #10296950, filed 2009-12, 101,000 miles

“Dt: on july 11, 2005 the consumer's rear tire blew out. A part of the sidewall and a part of the tire tread come off, about 2 inches long on the side and about 1 inch in the tread. The tread peeled back from the tire while the consumer was driving 15-25 MPH. The tire only had only 2,286 miles on it.”
