“We have had several problems with this vehicle. We've had tires replaced twice, rotors, and brakes resurfaced, and rear-end dropped so the springs could be adjusted. But the biggest problem has been with the roaring in the motor. The dealership has had the vehicle for more than 20 days on and off looking for this noise. I've had it to them 8 times or so trying to find it. The noise didn't start until around 3,000 miles, and gets worse and easier to duplicate with more miles. …”

NHTSA complaint #10236017, filed 2008-07, 3,000 miles

“After only one month of purchase auto start feature does not work unless you were 3 feet away. The vehicle once sat over night would make a really loud clattering sound when you would turn on the engine. I took the car into the dealer and told them about the problems the dealer indicated that they had to reprogram the software in the Tahoe to reprogram auto start. The next morning I was called and informed that they were unable to reproduce the clattering sound and that nothing wrong was detected with the vehicle so that it was ready for pick up. Everything was o.k. …”

NHTSA complaint #10202999, filed 2007-09, 2,000 miles

“Right at 2000 I noticed my tires in front feathering, Chevrolet refused to replace them, and dealership said to rotate, now, they want me to put the rear tires on front, to only do the same thing, now I have over 6,000 miles, and already need new tires on front as they were horrible and getting very choppy. It was sad for Chevrolet to ignore this.”

NHTSA complaint #10193488, filed 2007-06

“Upon notification by onstar to rotate my tires, at 6500 miles. I had them rotated at the dealership and noted that the front tires were feathered (wearing incorrectly due to some chamber or caster setting being incorrect). The dealer said he had seen worse tire feathering on 07 Tahoe's and there should be a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10174914, filed 2006-12

“The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe equipped with Mavis Tires, Tire Line: Mavis A/S HT, Tire Size: 255/70/R18, DOT Number: 1TB Y1PA5C 1322. The contact purchased the tires at a Mavis Tire Shop while on vacation. While driving the vehicle back to the residence, the vehicle was shaking abnormally rough at highway speeds. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop where the tires were placed on a wheel balance machine, and the contact became aware that all four tires had a bulge on the sidewalls. …”
