“During a low speed left turn across oncoming lanes of traffic, my 2015 Tahoe had a complete loss of all power and stopped right in the middle of oncoming traffic. Luckily oncoming traffic was at a distance that they were able to notice my Tahoe had died blocking their lanes, and they corrected their path to go around. We could have been injured at the least if oncoming traffic had not noticed that our vehicle died. I purchased this Tahoe used 3 weeks ago and this has happened 5 times since. …”
NHTSA complaint #11337479, filed 2020-07, 96,500 miles“I purchased a used 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe with about 140000 miles. After driving the vehicle for about a month I began to experience problems with the radio. It had an issue playing clearly. Then the display screen started jumping and moving through different commands on its own. Just recently, two months after owning the vehicle, it has started to cut off completely while I am driving it. The first time it occurred is when I was about to make a left turn. The second time it occurred, I was backing into my drive way. This time it cut off completely three times in a row. …”
NHTSA complaint #11413736, filed 2021-04, 146,243 miles“At slow speeds car dies shutting off all electric power and locking us in the car. Steering wheel jerks and car dies. Backed out into highway at night two nights ago and car died in middle of road with no lights. There was enough of a hill to let the car roll off of highway or my family could have died. Car has around 60k miles on it. Have read other issues similar to this. No evidence on computer when we take it to dealer. We have had this issue happen at least five separate occasions. The last one was the worst and most dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #11013076, filed 2017-08, 60 miles“2015 chevy Tahoe ltz: condenser and compressor went out stopping any cool or cold air flow in middle of a june. Must order parts directly from gmc. Parts estimate $3,500+ labor estimate $780. What's wrong with this picture? It's a leased vehicle. Chevrolet won't cover. Same 2015 chevy Tahoe- at 111k, 4,5,and 6 gear failed. Transmission failed going up hill with my 2 year old in the vehicle! Chevy only covered a portion leaving me a $2k bill in april 2017. June 2016- I had taken my Tahoe (leased) only to one dealership when needing any maintenance. …”
NHTSA complaint #11010151, filed 2017-07, 111,000 miles“Our Tahoe has had an issue over the past 9 months. The engine unexpectedly stalls. This has happened twice while pulling out on to a busy highway. Very frightening. We first took this to the dealer on 8/15/17. They spent hours trying to diagnose and found nothing. The stalling continued to happen occasionally. Early december the stalling occurred while pulling in to our garage. We lost all power momentarily and it would not restart this time. I disconnected the negative battery cable and then reconnected it and everything worked fine again. We took it back to the dealer on 12/8/17. …”
