“My vehicle started leaking gas while it was turned on while it was moving and stationary. A mechanic found that the fuel line developed a pin sized hole as the source of the problem. After some online research I found that this is a problem for many with my vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11360825, filed 2020-09, 99,500 miles

“We have been noticing an excessive fresh fuel smell which we believe to be coming from the exhaust when we start our vehicle to warm up prior to driving in the morning. Also sounds like exhaust is missing a little at idle. Took it in and dealer could not find any codes relating to our problem. They did however find a TSB 14858 for possible high pressure pump leak. They replaced high pressure fuel pump and seals with new line and test drove vehicle. They state vehicle is ok. …”

NHTSA complaint #10745471, filed 2015-07, 25,200 miles

“I had a system failure light that came on my 2015 Tahoe. When I brought it to voss Chevrolet dealership in centerville ohio, they told me that my high pressure fuel pump was failing and that I would need to replace it along with the fuel lines. Upon further research I learned that GM had issued a recall bulletin (TSB 14858) in 2015 for select 2015 tahoes. The Tahoe's affected included vehicles with an 8 cylinder engine (rpo l83 or l86). This describes my vehicle but the dealership said GM did not include my VIN in the recall, so they could not fix it under the TSB recall. …”

NHTSA complaint #11279938, filed 2019-11, 120,000 miles

“High pressure fuel line was leaking due to rubbing on he chassis. When I mentioned it was a design flaw as alot of people complained the service manager said it was because something was chewing on the plastic but as you see in the pics. That is not the case and even the service man said it was not chewed on.”

NHTSA complaint #11290695, filed 2019-12, 90,000 miles

“Fuel line above gas tank wore a hole spraying a significant amount of gas around rear exhaust and brake rotors. The hole in the fuel line was due to not being properly protected from normal wear and vibration where it made contact with the gas tank assembly and vehicle frame. The hole occurred after very normal use of the vehicle at around 81,000 miles. The car has been used 99% of time on city streets and highways.”
