“Engine failure. No warning lights. Engine felt like it was running on less the 8 cylinders. I pulled into the first gas station to shut the car off and check all fluid levels (all fine). Started the motor, would not idle and died. Turned the key again and heard the motor completely clunk around out of sync. That was the end of my 2006 300C”
NHTSA complaint #10908925, filed 2016-09, 110,000 miles“Stalled on several occasions after filling the tank up. Also while going at lower speeds. Hesitation and lost of power afterwards. Since my last fill up, the car won't start now. I read that hundreds of other people are having the same problem due to a float swells up into a stuck open position, allowing an overfill condition.”
NHTSA complaint #10713704, filed 2015-04, 94,000 miles“After filling up with gas, the engine has stalled without any warning, at very low speed limit, this occurred three times, after a few gallons of gas were used the problem went away. This particular incident has happened on three separate times before. I am concerned I could be involved in rear end accident if the engine stalls in traffic.”
NHTSA complaint #10543323, filed 2013-09, 102,900 miles“I was driving the car from work I made a left turn onto the street that leads me to my house the vehicle stopped I tried to make it start back up nothing happened. I called the tow place to have it towed to Chrysler they took a look at it the next day saying the engine has seized it needs a new engine.”
NHTSA complaint #10750320, filed 2015-08, 131,363 miles“After filling the gas tank the vehicle stalls periodically. The issue has become worst over time. The last time my son was driving with me in the car and stall in the middle of the highway. He was 16 and still in the learning stage of driving. The time before we were pulling out of a gas station as we were entering traffic the engine stalled. Lucky we were not involve in an incident.”
