“This is the second time one of my tires came off the rim while driving. I have to check the air pressure every other day, as it is always low. This is a safety hazard that Chrysler refuses to address. I have 17 chrome rims.”
NHTSA complaint #10286023, filed 2009-10, 90,000 miles“2000 chysler 300M. Myself and two neighbors have had this same problem numberous times this year. We are finding that the wheels are rusting/peeling and causing the seal on the tires to break, thus, causing constant flat tires. We've all had the wheels cleaned and re-sealed numerous times but feel this is a real safety hazard let alone a concern of owners finding flat tires all the time. Our dealer indicated no recalls have been made and that there were some problems with the manufacturer of the wheels. …”
NHTSA complaint #10143122, filed 2005-11, 24,900 miles“I have been driving in fear for 5 years. I bought my Chrysler 2000 300M at laflam, runnemede, nj and have had it serviced only by mall Chrysler, mount laurel nj. My front tires (especially the right tire) go flat every 4-5 days. Goodyear has tried to fix them they have replaced the tires 2x. The problem persisted. Laflam and mall Chrysler will not help me. The 800 # customer service will not help me. The mechanic at mall suggested about 6 months ago to replace the rims. When I suggested this to all of the above no one would help me. …”
NHTSA complaint #10106559, filed 2005-01, 200 miles“Dt: the tire rims will not hold air because the chrome plating pealed off the stainless rims. The consumer contacted the dealer, they said the consumer would have to replace them by himself. This started on august 24, 2004. Originally, the consumer thought a nail was in the tire. Took vehicle to the dealer and the service manager said it was a common complaint. Every other day had to fill up to 15 to 20 lbs of air.”
NHTSA complaint #10134062, filed 2005-10, 30,000 miles“On three of the four tires the steel belts are showing through. Tires were replaced. Technician called tire bald from running out of alignment. There were no severe indications of mis-alignment wear. Only one tire failed as described. Inspection revealed same belt exposure on two more tires.”
