2007: “Failing lifters and camshaft which is happening to over 5000 separate owners across the united states. The lifters and camshaft fail no matter how well you keep up your maintenance. I had the cam and lifters replaced twice once at 98000 miles by Chrysler and now I need them replaced again at 195000 miles which very common with owners of this engine”

NHTSA complaint #11232223, filed 2019-07, 195,000 miles

2008: “The engine light remains on constantly despite being repaired at least three times. We have been advised that it has been repaired, however, the light remains on. Two separate repair shops have worked on the issue and have been unable to get the light to turn off. We have spent substantial funds trying to repair this issue and no one is able to get light to turn off.”

NHTSA complaint #10761976, filed 2015-09, 93,000 miles

2009: “Suv stalls after filling fuel tank. Often it will require multiple cycles of starting and stalling before it will continue to run. Problem appears to be more severe in cold weather. The SUV has stalled in traffic on multiple occasions. Additionally gas will splash out during fueling.”
