“My 2022 Pacifica Hybrid has experienced a total loss of motor propulsion THREE times in the last 8 days at highway (or near-highway) speeds. The car issued a warning to Stop Safely Vehicle will Shut Off Soon and had a turtle light appear along with a check engine light and I experienced no power going to the wheels on the highway. This included TWO incidents after a recall repair that was completed to supposedly fix this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11738771, filed 2026-05

“A message appeared on the dashboard stating the engine would shut off soon. I could not accelerate. This has happened multiple times (at least a dozen since I bought the vehicle in April 2025) and I cannot drive above 70 mph or it will cause the issue to occur. Several times I have been in multi-lane traffic and because you cannot accelerate, I have to try to park on the should across multiple lanes of traffic at high rates of speed while slowing down.”

NHTSA complaint #11714924, filed 2026-02

“We purchased 2022 hybrid Chrysler Pacifica from Mountain View CDJR in June 2026 and around July 4th the car went into critical red turtle limp mode on the highway slowing from 65 to under 15 mph with all our children in the car. Thankfully my husband was driving and able to get us to the local CDJR who helped inspect the vehicle and discovered contaminated coolant issue and showed us the different colors that shouldn’t be there from a car purchased from a CDJR dealership. …”

NHTSA complaint #11772526, filed 2026-10

“On three separate occasions (December 2023-February 2024), while driving in temperatures below freezing, our 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid dashboard gave the following warning, along side the illumination of a red turtle warning light: Stop Safely. Vehicle will shut off soon. The vehicle then lost the ability to accelerate, and the speed dropped significantly and immediately. Two of the three times, my one and three year old were in the vehicle and there was no shoulder on the 50mph road we were traveling on after sunset. …”

NHTSA complaint #11577187, filed 2024-03

“I was renting this vehicle. On my way home on the highway, going about 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly illuminated the check engine light. Soon after, an message appeared on the dash warning me that I needed to stop and that the vehicle would shut off soon. I immediately pulled over and turned at the next county road. However, I did not realize until this point that my engine power was now being limited to almost nothing. As I crossed a railroad crossing and realized I didn't have engine power, I just hoped that I'd be able to cross and not end up dead on the tracks. …”
