“2007 Chrysler Sebring touring was stuck in park and would not allow me to shift into reverse, drive, neutral. Had to remove the chrome housing around the shifter and there is a little pink lever looking thing that I had to press backwards to allow the shifter to come free and go back into reverse or any gear. Vehicle this is a v-6 2.7 engine.”

“Takata recall my etc light flashes and you cant accelerate the only way to get it to go off is turn car off then back on . I've put new throttle body and ECM on it but still have the problem. Help if you have any advice”

NHTSA complaint #10836250, filed 2016-02, 150,000 miles

“I left work and my 2007 Chrysler Sebring would not shift out of park (it's an automatic). I eventually had to have my car towed for a total of 280. I learned that an internal spring and another part inside of the shifter had broken. Based on what I read, it seems to be a common problem with the later model sebrings.”

NHTSA complaint #10349409, filed 2010-08, 88,965 miles

“I had been driving the vehicle all day. I later went to run an errand and the car would not let me get out of park. It was completely jammed. For absolutely no reason. It was very frustrating as I was headed to an important doctor's appointment. Had to aaa tow the vehicle. Very disappointing as this vehicle let me sit. Currently being repaired and public transportation will be needed to get to work.”

NHTSA complaint #10348534, filed 2010-08, 34,000 miles

“I went to the store in my 2007 Chrysler Sebring, and park the car on a level parking lot, when I came out of the store, the car was stuck in the park position and I could not move it. I searched on-line only to find out that this is a common problem.”
