“I hit a bump and my wind shield wiper cut on and would not cut off even when I turned the van off the windshield wiper kept running I had to remove the fuss. When I put the fuss back in the wiper are not working at all now.”
NHTSA complaint #10577225, filed 2014-04, 116,000 miles“My son hit a 2000 pound cow at 40 MPH. It was standing in the road after a curve. He never had time to hit the break but stopped instantly. It hit head on and then flew up into the windshield. The front end caved in and the radiator was bent into the engine. The van is a total loss. The airbag never deployed. We checked on line and other years around our van had a recall but not ours. I reported it to Chrysler but they said airbags don't go off when you 'drive through an animal'. I've known people who have hit deer with less damage and their airbags did go off.”
NHTSA complaint #10734755, filed 2015-07, 114,422 miles“This is an ongoing issue with the heater control switch. The temperature knob will not change from cool to warm. After I turn it fast back and forth, sometimes it may trigger the change. This has been happening almost a year. All other controls on the unit work fine. I have talked to many mechanics who have said this is a regular issue and one friend said he had replaced so many of these control units on this vehicle that he cannot even begin to count. The danger is when you cant use the defrost. When this first happened, I was picking up 5 children from grade school. …”
NHTSA complaint #10759397, filed 2015-08, 82,000 miles“We have had problems with our town & country since we bought it a few months ago. There is a problem with the electric. All of the gauges, radio, dash lights flash on and off erratically. The worst part is that the car completely shut off one time. It went completely dead! I put it in park and tried to restart it but it did nothing. Some people came over and were offering to push me to a safe spot. I was very grateful because I had my two small children in the car with me. I tried to put the car in neutral but it wouldn't even let me shift gears. …”
NHTSA complaint #10501997, filed 2013-03, 79,000 miles“I was driving on the highway in my mini van when the right side rear panel window exploded. Sounded like a gun shot. The window was gone. I pulled over out shear fear and a truck with two men following behind me witnessed the explosion and pulled over as well to make sure I was ok. They remarked they have never seen anything like it. This was in 2007 with approximately 20,000 miles on vehicle. I went to dealership and had window replaced. Well it happened again yesterday 5/20/2011. Close to 4 years later with about 79,000 miles on the vehicle. …”
