“While driving my vehicle the check engine light and the esp bas light turned on and my car went into a mode where it only allowed me to go 35mph and I took my vehicle to a auto shop and the tech told me that he put it on the computer and he advised me that the engine code lost communication with TCM, the trans code read internal control module rom, ABS read streering angle sensor not activated. “When in gear and vehicle is moving, reverse and drive, the vehicle will seize, causing loss of steering and speed. While this vehicles VIN number is not recognized on the recall list, we have had several recall problems with the vehicle which Dodge did except responsibility for by paying the repair cost. I want to document that 3 body shops including a certified Dodge dealer cannot diagnose this vehicles seizing problem. This is the fourth time it is going into the shop for seizing while in gear. …”

NHTSA complaint #10610349, filed 2014-07, 102,000 miles

“Vehicle on three isolated occasions over the past week has lunges forward while stopped at a red traffic light, another instance at a stop sign and as of today while waiting in line at a local coffee shop drive through. On each occasion my vehicle was at a complete stop for roughly a minute, my foot was on the brake and suddenly the vehicle began to self rev to 3500 RPM. On all occasions I had to immedialty place the vehicle in neutral to prevent catastrophic endangerment to myself, surrounding vehicles and persons. This condition is a detriment to he safe operation of the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11180156, filed 2019-02, 108,000 miles

“While traveling at 40+ MPH I attempted to accelerate by pressing the accelerator pedal all the way, the Dodge Charger did not react and kept accelerating at the normal rate before I pressed the accelerator. Since it was not reacting to my input, I took my foot completely off the accelerator but the vehicle kept accelerating at a constant rate. Then after two seconds, the vehicle accelerated at full throttle, and continued to speed up at full throttle. Brakes were pressed but seemed to have zero effect on the vehicle's uncontrolled acceleration. …”
