“Water kept entering passenger cabin whenever it rained due to open seam on windshield beneath the windshield wipers. Consumer paid $27063 for the repair. After notifying Dodge, they reimbursed her half of the expense even though it was over the mileage and year of the warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #10048149, filed 2003-11, 32,552 miles

“Van stops for no apparent reason. Just started in summer heat. Transmission acted up, had it serviced---now transmission made huge noise, no reverse, loud whining, all going out. Loud squeaks in supports, brakes replaced but still squealing even when pedal not pushed. Horrible fogging problems, have had to pull over and wipe windows inside and out when raining. Almost wrecked when vehicle stopped in traffic. Can't see due to fogging when raining. Just an accident waiting to happen---going to the junk yard. Manufacturer needs to own up to problems. Won't own another.”

NHTSA complaint #10260560, filed 2009-03, 150,000 miles

“Windshield wipers do not turn off when the switch is turned off. The wipers swipe an additional 2 - 8 times after they are turned off, even if the engine is off. The dealer tells me they will never fail to come on, they only fail to go off, and that changing the switch may not eliminate the problem. I am concerned that one day the switch will not respond when the wipers are needed and visibility will be compromised. It has gotten progressively worse since I have had the van.”

NHTSA complaint #10053103, filed 2004-01

“The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, there was an abnormal noise and noticed that the vehicle's windshield wiper and blinkers had become inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had been diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty wiper transmission linkage, a relay, and a switch. The relay and switch were replaced however, the wiper transmission linkage was not repaired due to parts not being available. …”

NHTSA complaint #11550683, filed 2023-10, 110,000 miles

“I have repeatedly taken the van in for repairs for fuel mileage and pinging under acceleration as well as rattling in the steering column, intermitant wipers will stop working intermitantly. The most resent problem is the vents on the drivers side of the dash board cannot be shut off while the heater is on, this causes my head to get very warm while my feet are cold. The wiper switch, body computer and motor have been changed at 4 seperate trips to the dealer and this has not repaired the problem. …”
