“First my airbag light came on. Then my controls for my radio on my steering wheel quit working. Then my horn quit working. Then my cruise control quit working. This happened in about a 2 month time. I have been told by a couple of mechanics that there is a recall out for this problem. It seems to have a recall for other Dodge vehicles but not my model. Why?”
NHTSA complaint #10256202, filed 2009-01, 99,000 miles“My 2001 caravans A/C had gone out a little over 1 year after I bought it. I guess it wasn't their problem to report or inform us when we purchased this vehicle that there was an extended warranty through the daimler corp due to a possible A/C problem). On this model minivan the middle windows on the sliding doors do not open and the back windows only open a sliver so my 2 year old son was practically baking the middle seat with no air circulating and no windows to open for ventilation. …”
NHTSA complaint #10080708, filed 2004-07, 83,000 miles“We have a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan with dual sliding doors and power leftists. The power sliding door was starting to close and it hit my wife's hand and did not stop. It cut 3 fingers on her hand. As it was hitting her hand she put pressure on the door and it went back. We have reported this to Dodge and their accident department said someone would contact us to inspect the vehicle. They have not done so. I have three small children ages 2 years to 4 years and if the door hit them it would crush them possibly to death.”
NHTSA complaint #10045108, filed 2003-10, 37,435 miles“Iam the owner of a 2001 Grand Caravan sport and from day one the power windows driver and passenger acting up.they will go down but I cannot bring them up again immediately,I'll have to wait for a while and then come up a few inches , and wait again, it takes 5 minutes to roll up a power window.the first time chrysler repair the solenoids under warranty, a year later the same windows start acting up again to the point that I have to pull the window up with my hands and somebody else pushing the button at the same time, a process that takes at least 10 minutes, so much for the option of power…”
NHTSA complaint #10063748, filed 2004-03, 57,000 miles“Multiple issues with 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Both power windows have stuck down over the past 2 1/2 years. Dealership looked at windows said there was nothing wrong with the drivers side and replaced the regulator in the passenger window but it doesn't work all the time still and they charged me over $500 to fix. Sliding doors seals have buckled and had to be replaced and the air conditioner has had 2 failures and a fuse replacement.”
