“Plastic-metal seat belt buckle its broken, and isn't close when its necessary, always appears like its closed but its not. When I came to Dodge agency for service, I ask them for replace but they have not the price and service, I' m worry because use mi car without closed buckle in driver's seat belt. Someone told me Journey was build in USA.”

NHTSA complaint #10522390, filed 2013-06, 80,000 miles

“I was driving about 45 MPH last night and had to stop abruptly to avoid a deer. I weigh about 220 lbs and the seat belt buckle broke. This allowed the belt to unfasten. Luckily I didn't hit anything and didn't really need the belt because of the slow speed and the fact that no other vehicles were involved. If this would have happened in a more severe crash, I could have suffered significant injuries or death. I wonder how many other people have experienced this. I have the old part in my possession if you want to inspect.”

NHTSA complaint #10864929, filed 2016-05, 167,000 miles

“I was sitting stopped in rush hour traffic on 06.17.2008 on hwy 270. A truck traveling at approx 60 MPH hit the rear of the Journey . The truck remained connected and pushed the Journey forward into 3 additional cars and one pickup truck. Most vehicles suffered heavy damage and me and two others were transported to emergency rooms. The police report indicated 86' of skid marks and the truck driver was ticketed + assigned 100% blame. My injuries included chest compression, briefly blacked-out, heavy bruising from the left shoulder to the left knee, strained neck and nerve damage. …”

NHTSA complaint #10381344, filed 2011-02, 640 miles

“Front passenger no seat belt light does not come on when seat occupied. Light will come on when seat is unoccupied. Passenger side front door and now rear door no longer operates electrically. Rear passenger will will not open manually interior or exterior.”

NHTSA complaint #11032972, filed 2017-10, 66,500 miles

“The 2nd row (center row) driver's side seat belt will no longer latch. Nothing is stuck in it--you can push the seat belt into the latch, but it pulls right out. Although a major safety concern (as well as wearing a seat belt being law here), Dodge claims it is not under warranty and will only fix if I pay for it.”
