“While vehicle was on a boat ramp the vehicle”s gear shift was put into the park position. The vehicle’s park gear failed to engage and it continued to roll backwards. Additional attempts to then put the vehicle into drive also failed to respond. My brand new 2024 Ford Bronco that only had just over 2300 miles on it, continued to roll backwards until it was completely submerged underwater. The vehicle had to be pulled out of the water by another truck!!! With my wife and children watching I was fortunate enough to escape without drowning!!!!”

NHTSA complaint #11772303, filed 2026-10“My 2024 Ford Bronco repeatedly loses power without warning while driving, including on highways, suddenly slowing to approximately 32 mph. It also fails to accelerate from traffic lights, leaving me stranded in traffic. Dashboard warnings include Powertrain Malfunction, Service AdvanceTrac, Check 4x4, and Pre-Collision Assist Unavailable. On September 30, 2026, at 9:43 PM, the vehicle lost power on the road, nearly causing a rear-end collision. I have videos documenting six incidents between September 30 and October 15, 2026. This dangerous problem has continued since May 2025. …”
NHTSA complaint #11771764, filed 2026-10“I was driving down the road and the front end of the car started to shake. The power to the car then went out. The message on the dash said to put it in park and restart so I did. I was able to get it started, and put it in drive and then it shook again and the power went out. The message on my Ford App said that there were two issues with the transmission. One was a transmission shift solenoid not responding and the other message was that the transmission clutch did not apply within the time as expected resulting in delayed or hard shifts into another gear. …”
NHTSA complaint #11582872, filed 2024-04“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving and coming to a stop, the Engine Auto Start-Stop system failed to engage, and the engine revved significantly, causing the vehicle to move forward unintendedly. The contact stated that the failure persisted while standing on the brake pedal, requiring the contact to shift to neutral(N) or to park(P) to stop the engine. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on two occasions. …”
