“We've had the brakes fail once before and once again today. We hit the brakes on thhe interstate and afterwards, the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. The last time, we took it to a service station and they couldnt' find anything wrong. It happened again this morning on the interstate. I believe it's related to fsa 19s54 recall and that Ford escapes should be evaluated to be included in the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11311811, filed 2020-02, 150,000 miles

NHTSA complaint #10986064, filed 2017-05, 100,000 miles

“When driving my vehicle the brakes begin to make loud noises then it will slow down as I'm trying to accelerate. Then it will pick backup with speed. After which I began to notice a burning smell as if the tires are burning..”

NHTSA complaint #11254340, filed 2019-09, 120,000 miles

“I was driving in wet weather and slid on some leaves while braking. This caused an activation of the anti lock braking system (ABS). After the ABS event I had a difficult time stopping the car. The brake pedal felt spongy and it took all of my effort on the brake pedal to bring the car to a stop. This spongy brakes persisted for several miles. I immediately took my car to my neighborhood mechanic. He checked the brake system and could find nothing wrong. The brake system had returned to normal by itself.”

NHTSA complaint #11296999, filed 2020-01, 74,759 miles

“I was stopped at a traffic light, with the brake engaged, and my car lunged forward into the car ahead of me, damaging it's liftgate (minivan) and bumper. I initially thought someone must have rear-ended my car, pushing me into the other car, but I was not hit from behind. My foot was on the brake the entire time. I am concerned this might happen again, injuring someone possibly in a crosswalk, or lunging me into cross traffic.”
