“Driving down the highway at 65 MPH in the left lane when the car lost all power. We were able to coast to the side of the highway because we were traveling at the rate of speed listed above with no power. This is extremely dangerous to someone in this position. As we attempted to see if we could figure out what had occurred an error appeared on the service display of service advance trac. A few minutes later we noticed the additional code of tire pressure monitor fault. We had to get the vehicle towed at this point. Not satisfied as the could be huge safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10564308, filed 2014-02, 51,120 miles

“Vehicle accelerated unintended and unexpected. Speed was uncontrollable. Driver avoided to the best of his abilities standing workers and unintentionally hit two other vehicles and workers inside those vehicles. 6 injured taken by ambulance two critically hurt!”

NHTSA complaint #10619402, filed 2014-08, 30,000 miles

“After engaging the 4x4 via the dashboard control knob the service advance track message was shown in the instrument cluster. The 4x4 was disengaged and the vehicle was then stopped. The indicator lights for the ABS, stability control and 4x4 were then illuminated on the instrument cluster. The vehicle was restarted and at this point all stability control, anti-lock brakes and other powertrain safety features were completely inoperable and/or disabled. The vehicle was serviced and a failure of the wheel speed sensor was noted.”

NHTSA complaint #10559602, filed 2014-01, 20,000 miles

“My wife backed my vehicle out of the garage and began her drive to work. She stopped a few times at stop light through town before she got to the freeway. Driving on the highway she notice/got a message on the dash that stated Low Brake Fluid. She wasn't sure what that meant as the brakes were working fine. On her drive to work she has 2 stop lights that are on the highway. Coming up to the first stop light she was unable to stop as the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Her inability to stop caused to to run the red light at around 40 mph. I am a mechanic of 20 years. …”

NHTSA complaint #11458800, filed 2022-03

“Multiple times replacing brake pads, rotors and calipers in under a year and 7,000 miles. Mechanics says it's a known defect of Ford that is not admitted. There is no hard braking, no odd driving, no real reasons for any brake issues to happen let alone requiring multiple replacements within a year. When I went to dealer, I was told they wouldn't help me. I could pay for them to replace it all but they were twice my local mechanic of course. Just want them to admit it and make my vehicle feel safe.”
