“Uniroyal tire side wall cracks lt 235 75r15 - no failure - just crack. All 4 of my tires had a side wall crack the entire diameter of the tire about 3 inches down on the side wall . I noticed the crack on the inside as well so it appears the tires had some issue. I had never applied tire foam cleaner(armor all tirefoam prior ) but one time this last week I did apply some and found the crack. Looking under the 1991 Ford Explorer 4x4 I did see the same issue on the inside of a front tire as well...I never applied any armor all type cleaner on the inside either. …”

NHTSA complaint #10289739, filed 2009-10, 2,000 miles

“I have a firestone atx spare tire as original equipment on my 1991 Ford Explorer. Both Ford and firestone participated in a recall of these tires. I was never contacted about the recall. I have contacted both Ford and firestone customer service to get this tire replaced and they say they can no longer replace my tire.”

NHTSA complaint #10064392, filed 2004-04

“We was on a trip to kentucy,( 9/24/99) we got right past the st. Joe missouri exit and the front end of my truck started shaking then I had a blow out. I was able to get off the road. I called a state patrol, who inturn called a wrecker, (randy's repair 169 hwy, gower, mo, 424-6232). He towed us back to his garage and replaced my tire.( DOT number: tire size: p235/75r15 )”

NHTSA complaint #728136, filed 2000-08

“According to firestone tires not recalled, p235/75ri5 105s m/s, tread came completly off! Tire stayed inflated. Please look into more recalls on tires. I still have the tire. If you need a picture let me know. No injuries to my family but I still have the two rear tires. More lives could be lost. Suggest wider recall and investigation. ( DOT number: tire size: p235/75ri5 )”

NHTSA complaint #731237, filed 2000-09

“On monday, september 8, 1997, I was returning home (dallas, tx) from a camping trip in northern new mexico in my 1991 Ford Explorer. Prior to leaving on this trip, my husband took our Explorer to the firestone dealership in our neighborhood to have all 4. (tiresize: p235/75r15)( DOT number: tire size: p235/75r15 )”
