“I was heading down my street in my neighborhood and just before the street bends to the left my truck stalled and I lost my power brakes and power steering. Doing the best I could I turned the wheel just enough to avoid the car parked on the side of the street then I proceeded to run through my neighbor's wrought iron gate and plaster coming to rest on the hill in his front yard. After assessing the damage, I tried to start my truck to see if I could move it. It started and I moved it to my driveway. …”

“It took several times before I could crank my truck and once it was started it smoked badly but did eventually clear up. It spit and sputtered on the way to work so I dropped it off at the mechanics shop. The mechanic inspected it and the fuel injector module was bad. I researched the recall list and called the Ford dealership in mobile, al based on the recall list to have the problem repaired; gave them my VIN and was told that my vehicle was not included in any recalls. …”

NHTSA complaint #10460354, filed 2012-06, 283,000 miles

“I take my truck to dealer: salinas valley Ford with address on 1100 auto center cir salinas ,ca for the recall posted on your ad with # 05v270000 and dealer told me that the computer don't show any recall or job about this and they can't do anything. They explained to me that recall posted on web pages not always are true. So who's is telling the truth dealer or NHTSA?”

NHTSA complaint #10134900, filed 2005-08, 4,980 miles

“I have a 2005 Ford f-250 6.0 diesel purchased in february 2005. Over the last year or so the truck has intermittent loss of power. This mostly occurs during take off from a stop. It has resulted in several near crashes due to faltering in the middle of an intersection. The NHTSA has a recall for this issue (05v270000) which Ford acknowledges. Ford however refuses to cover the repairs for this because my VIN is outside of the VIN specific recall. Even thought this recall effects my vehicle's model year and trouble code.”
