“While getting into my 2007 Ford f250 four door pickup my foot slipped off of the nurf bar, projected itself into the large space between the nerf bar and the vehicle body. Then, being off balance I fell down and my leg was broken right in two.”
NHTSA complaint #10296425, filed 2009-12, 30,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the undercarriage of the vehicle bed was rusted and parts were missing. The contact stated that the bed of the vehicle could unexpectedly detach because it was loose and parts of the metal were rubbing off. The contact also mentioned that the bed was pushing down into the frame. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.”
