“I was driving my Ford f-450 truck on a secondary road in baja california when the left front coil spring fell off, presumably while passing over a bump in the road. I was not immediately aware that the spring was missing, and was not able to find the spring when I later searched the roadway.”

NHTSA complaint #10185086, filed 2007-03, 18,500 miles

“The contact owns a 2005 Ford f-450 super duty. While driving 45 MPH or greater, the rear of the vehicle veers from left to right in clear road conditions. The dealer stated that the vehicle needed a wheel alignment and performed the repair; however the failure still occurred. The vehicle has not been inspected again. The contact replaced all of the vehicle's tires, but this did not resolve the failure. The current mileage is 12,000 and failure mileage was 1,639.”
