“When accelerating, the transmission has stalled and lurched since purchasing the vehicle. I have taken my car to multiple dealerships numerous times (sometimes repairs were made but the problem was not fixed, and many times I was told the stalling, rattling, and lurching was normal). I do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive.”
NHTSA complaint #11244159, filed 2019-08, 25,108 miles“The engine malfunction service light came on and the sorry bottle position sensor keeps on saying it's spelt faulty, but when I replaced the throttle body and replaced the gas pedal it was still having issues, and now I'm barely getting to and from work anymore or anywhere else, even down the street because it continues to put itself in safe mode. So I am out for a thought of body and a gas pedal, and it's still not fixed the issue”
NHTSA complaint #11242689, filed 2019-08, 76,000 miles“Door handle stuck in pull out position which I didn't notice. When making left turn car door flung open. No warning sensor on dashboard indicating door malfunction. Passenger was riding with seat belt on, very scary potentially fatal. I was pulling out of home development onto main road.”
NHTSA complaint #10865059, filed 2016-05, 77,200 miles“2011 Ford Fiesta ses, manual transmission: car started stalling about 3 or 4 mos ago when I would come to a stop. Yesterday, it stalled as I was driving!!! Now I don't dare get behind the wheel! I bought this car in '11 brand new and have had no problems with it until now. And now all I want to do is dump it!”
NHTSA complaint #10633627, filed 2014-09, 55,000 miles“At 232 miles we started taking this car back to the dealer for transmission problems, and were told they had no clue what was going on, before 60,000 miles they replaced the transmission or did software updates numerous times, also after 60,000 it continued. In addition the frame and axels have had several issues when the car has never been in accident. I was told by a Ford mechanic the transmission caused that due to the severe shaking caused by the transmission issues. …”
